Weekly Notes September 5, 2018

“Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

In case you are not aware… All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Baton Rouge follow Diocesan guidelines. And according to the Diocesan guidelines, SES follows the directive of the Civil Parish when making decisions as to whether or not school is closed. I wait for notification from Assumption Schools and follow their lead.

***What is the STOPit app? This app can be downloaded from the App Store or Goggle Play. STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors, consisting of an app and a back-end incident management system for school administrators. It is completely anonymous. It is a great way for your child to report incidents without having to worry that a peer will find out. It also enables the principal to message with that student, without ever knowing who he/she is. This service is being provided free of charge by the diocese for our students. Check your child’s folder tomorrow for a letter with more information. Call or email if you have any questions. Please consider using this wonderful tool.

The Book Fair is next week!! The students are always so excited to go and find a book. Please be sure that your child’s money is in an envelope as we cannot be responsible if something might happen to it. Family night is Wednesday evening.

I will hold a “chat with the principal” on Wednesday, 9/12 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Last year we had approximately 10 parents/guardians come. It would be great to see more. If you need to being dinner than do so. It is a time for us to talk about anything you wish. I hope to see you there!

Have a fantastic week!
