It was so good to see all of your children last week! Everyone was excited to be back and we are off to a fantastic start. We are looking forward to a great year.
Parents with children in grades PreK 3-5 are invited to attend the start of the year Open House. We hope to see you tomorrow night, (Tuesday) 8/14, 7:00 p.m. in the Community Center. We will meet together and then you will have time with your child’s teachers. Please remember that this is purely a meet and greet.
The revised parent-student handbook is now posted on the school website. Please take the time to read the handbook as it has information you should know. Note that this is the contract between St. Elizabeth School and you stating that you and your child will abide by the school’s policies. Please sign and return the paper indicating that you have read the handbook by August 17th.
Also posted in the website under the parent and student resources section is the school’s Technology curriculum. It explains why the standards are important, the standards themselves and what will be taught in each grade. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Sister Alphonse or myself.
Please remember to sign up for REMIND. It is the automated system we use for quick messages. Information concerning how to register was sent home last week.
There will not be Mass this Friday. Instead we will attend Mass on Wednesday which is a Holy Day of Obligation. Please send your child in the proper attire for mass.
The results of last year’s ACT Aspire testing will be sent home with your child on Wednesday. I will include as best an explanation as possible as to how to interpret the papers you receive.
Children in grades 1-8 will be given a school planner tomorrow. They are to have this planner every day. Teachers will have them write their homework, test schedules, etc. in the planner. Please note that if a child does not follow the teacher’s instructions the child will not have their homework written down. This will not take the place of OptionC but will take the place of homework sheets from the teacher.
Students will again have a conduct card. It will be a new color every month. Please sign the card every Thursday. However, the expectation is that you will look at it every day.
I am looking forward to seeing at tomorrow night at Open House!!
