Weekly Notes May 7, 2108

After Care update:

**The last day of After Care is May 18th.

***You may pay your last After Care in-voice on the last day (5/18) with Ms. Vicky when you come to pick up your child if this is more convenient for you.

****PK 3, PK 4 and Kindergarten parents: If your child is the oldest in these grades, you may pay your last After Care in-voice on the day of their programs. Or you may pay on the last day of After Care.

All other payments are due by May 23rd.

The faculty and I have been looking over graduation, awards ceremonies and everything else that happens at the end of school. There are a few things that may be different but there is one that I think deserves mentioning; honor roll awards. This year honor roll certificates will be awarded based on a students’ end of the year grade point average. A student must have achieved the honor roll all year to receive a certificate. The certificate will have the grade point average listed and type of honor he/she achieved. Note: Next year, certificates will be given out every nine and weeks to those who achieve honors.

A reminder that the last day of school is scheduled for May 25th. Please note that of a student is absent on either May 24th or 25th, it will not be counted towards their official attendance. Grades 1-7 will have their awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 23rd. Parents are welcomed to take have their child(ren) leave with them after the ceremony. There is no bus service that afternoon.

I think this is worth repeating from last week:

Please note that on 5/22, the last day of exams, the afternoon bus will leave SES at 10:45 am. Exams will be finished by that time. If you do not wish your child to leave that early, you must provide transportation for him/her at dismissal. On 5/23 there will be a bus in the morning but not after school. There will be NO bus service on 5/24 & 5/25. I apologize for whatever inconvenience this may cause.

The AR “field trip” is this Wednesday. Students will play games in the morning, including a bouncy house with Pizza for lunch. They will watch a movie on a big screen after lunch in the comfort of the Community Center air conditioned “Theater”, popcorn included. Congratulations to everyone who achieved their goal!

As the heat seems to have come upon us, we will be asking students to remove their heavy sweatshirts and lighter weight jackets. Please be sure they have the correct uniform shirts underneath. The classrooms do have the air conditioning on but it is not cool enough to warrant a sweatshirt.

Have a fantastic week!
