What a fantastic weekend! The Color Run was a lot of fun. It was my first time going to one and I enjoyed it. The students had fun with the color and just being kids. The fishing tournament was a big success as well. We had 30 boats which was above projection! People were already talking about next year and volunteering to be sponsors. Thank you to everyone who supported these events.
It is hard to believe that exams are already next week, March 13-15. It is especially important for students to get enough rest and either eat a good breakfast at home or school on those mornings. It will help them with the focus they need.
I would like to invite you to spend some time with me in the cafeteria on March 12, Monday morning around 7:45 am, after car line. You bring your coffee, or if like me, tea and I’ll bring donuts or some other goodies. I will limit this gathering to 20 parents so that we can all chat comfortably for about an hour. This is your time to talk about the school, how your year is going, your wishes. It is not a “soapbox” time but more of a time to talk of general things. Any grade is welcome. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to me at firstname.lastname@example.org You must tell us that you are coming. In the case of more people than spaces, I will gladly schedule another morning.
Tomorrow starts our Pennies for Patients drive to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The saying “every penny counts” is so true for these brave children, men and women who battle cancer. Send your pennies and other loose change you may have around the house, in your car or even what you might find on the ground. 😊 And of course, dollar bills and higher are always accepted.
Remember that communication with your child’s teachers and the school is so important. If we do not there is a problem, big or small, then we cannot fix it. We want to work as partners with you in educating your child. I welcome any comments you may have either in person, phone or email.
Have a great week!
